AQUATUFF

DESCRIPTION:

AQUATUFF combines the excellent durability properties associated with polyurethanes with the ease of application and environmental safety issues associated with water based systems. Unlike conventional polyurethanes AQUATUFF has excellent UV resistance. AQUATUFF has excellent adhesion to both damp and/or dry surfaces. Available in both clear, AQUATUFF C and pigmented, AQUATUFF P formats.

FEATURES/BENEFITS:

• Water based - easy clean up using water. • Non-flammable - low hazardous-easy to apply. • Excellent exterior durability. • Excellent colour retention. • Resistant to mild chemicals, alkaline and motor oils. • One part - ready to use - easy application. • Tough - with the ability to increase impact and wear resistance by additional crosslinking with PowerLink.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

• Suitable for application over most substrates including concrete, asphalt, timber, brick, etc. • Warehouse and commercial floors. • Car parks. • Sports finishes ie. timber and cushion based floors. • Floors and walls in food processing areas.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES:

Colour: Clear or pigmented Mixing Ratio: Use direct from the container no dilution required. Time between coats: 2-4hours @ 25°C + 50% R.H. Full Cure: 7 days @ 25°C + 50% R.H. Coverage: 15 to 20mē/Lt per coat depending on porosity of substrate. Values provided above are typical average figures achieved in laboratory testing. Actual values achieved in on-site conditions may vary slightly.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Surface preparation All surfaces must be structurally sound, free of any coatings, adhesives, grease, oil, form release agents, curing compounds, dirt/dust and any other surface contaminants. Non-structural cracks, holes and any other surface deformities to be rectified. Leave at least two hours before over-coating with AQUATUFF. Should sanding be required leave a minimum of 12 hours and allow to cure prior to the application of AQUATUFF Efflorescence must be removed, either by high pressure cleaning or a 5% hydrochloric acid solution followed by thorough washing. Although AQUATUFF may be applied to a damp surface, do not apply to surfaces having free water. Very dry, porous surfaces must be dampened with a fine mist of water.

APPLICATION:

Apply AQUATUFF as supplied by brush, roller, airless or conventional spray equipment. Two coats are required allowing 2 to 4 hours between coats dependent on substrate and weather conditions. When using clear AQUATUFF particularly on timber floors it is best applied using a lambs wool applicator and 2 to 4 coats are recommended using more coats in high wear areas. For indepth application details for coating on wooden floors see "Application procedures for wood floor finishes" instruction sheet. To harden last coat use between 0.5% (100ml) and 1.5% (300ml) Powerlink crosslinker per 20 litres.

CLEAN UP:

Wash all equipment with clean water immediately after use.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply if rain is imminent or when temperatures are below 10°C or above 35°C, or in situations where the relative humidity is greater than 85%.

SAFETY DATA:

If splashed in the eyes, flush with water immediately until irritation subsides. If swallowed, give plenty of water. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.
